Tweaking For 2008
Jan 14th, 2008 by Mike Bennett
2008 already – eek! Happy New Year one and all :)
Over the break I tweaked User Designer’s setup so you can post comments. You don’t need to signup to post. Comment responses will appear in the Blog/RSS feed as part of the blog post.
I’m not sure whether including comments in the Blog/RSS feed is a good or bad idea?
At the moment I reckon that if you make the effort of posting a comment then the comment should be easily available to everyone reading the blog, whether they read User Designer via the web or through a dedicated Blog/RSS feed reader. Is there a way of enabling you to easily post comments through your feed reader?
Trackbacks and pings have also been enabled.
Service will resume as normal tomorrow.

Right, this test blog comment should appear on both the web and in the RSS feed. There may be a slight delay with it appearing in the feed.
I don’t know… but I like being able to track the conversation through the reader. Hopefully it refreshes when a new comment is posted. Will see in a second, I guess. :)
Arrgh, there’s a delay because of how often Feedburner mirrors the feed. I might be able to reduce the delay by hacking around with the blog code.
@ Cam: Nice writeup on the colour-changing card trick – thanks for the link.
