You Decide & New Design
Jan 28th, 2008 by Mike Bennett

Today’s post is about User Designer itself. One request and one update.
[poll=2]
If the above poll doesn’t appear in your reader please vote here.
I’ve been debating whether to write a few short introductory tutorials on Interaction Design and Human Computer Interaction. The tutorials would be overviews about different key HCI areas, e.g. HCI history, mental models, personas, wireframing, performing user studies, etc. The thing is I don’t know how interested you’d be in them? Since UD is focused on user needs (and readers are users of a blog) I reckon I should throw the question out to you lot. So please vote in the poll, you don’t need to signup and it’ll only take a few seconds of your time.
Anyways onto the update: Welcome to the newly re-designed web site for User Designer. Over the last week I changed the colouring, font usage, buttons, logo size, layout, etc. Go on have a look. With the new design I aimed for a cleaner and simpler style – more inline with my taste. Hopefully the new look doesn’t give you a complete screaming fit of the uglies?
For the curious I’ve added a ClustrMap to the sidebar. ClustrMap displays a map of the world that shows where UD visitors are coming from, i.e. what country and city. Unfortunately ClustrMap doesn’t show where subscription (RSS) readers are from – so most of you will be left off the map.
